FABULAS, ‘FARAE’ MONTEPULCIANO 2022, ABRUZZO, ITALY $21.99 With sheep providing natural vineyard maintenance in the limestone soil, minimal mechanical processing, and limited intervention, Fabulas aims to change consumer perceptions of Abruzzo wines through rigorous farming and quality standards. Legend has it that, at one time, 7 female warriors called the Majellane lived in this region. As a result, the names of each of the 7 wines produced by Fabulas act as their homage to one of the warriors. Aged in stainless steel with wild fermentation from indigenous yeasts, this wine presents aromas of red fruits and spices on the nose. On the palate, we find a full, dry, harmonious and fairly tannic flavor. Pair with pizza or pasta with a hearty bolognese sauce for an autumnal delight!
YALUMBA, ‘THE Y SERIES’ PINOT NOIR 2023 $12.99 Yalumba is Australia’s most historic family-owned winery. The Y Series collection combines authentic Australian winemaking practices with a vibrant approach inspired by modern flavors. The Y Series Pinot Noir is vibrant and refreshing with aromatics of cranberry and pomegranate, complemented by a juicy palate featuring rhubarb and strawberry flavors finishing with delicious tannins. All Y Series wines are made with wild fermentation and the winemakers take a minimalistic approach with human intervention. The resulting wines are natural, vegan, gluten free and met by complex flavors that represent Yalumba's rich history of winemaking. Enjoy with duck dumplings or mushroom and thyme arancini.
LA TORRE DI VEGLIA, CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2021, FRIULI, ITALY $15.99 La Torre Cabernet is a pure expression of this noble grape with just the right touch of real, neutral oak barrels. A refreshing example with dark fruits like cassis, blackberry, and plum. Accents to the fruit include, violet flowers, smoked wood, hints of spice, and a mild tannin that is deep and satisfying. A terroir driven wine with a true northern Italian style, aged for six months in neutral French oak from meticulously farmed grapes. Recommended with tender cuts of beef, roasted and braised meats, excellent with hard aged cheeses, or all by itself.

R. STUART & CO. ‘BIG FIRE’ PINOT GRIS 2023, WILLAMETTE VALLEY, OREGON $17.99 A staff favorite winery at Highland Fine Wine, we are thrilled to bring you the R. Stuart Pinot Gris! Rob Stuart is a Pacific Northwest veteran winemaker, and both his personality and his winemaking style are warm and accessible. This Oregonian Pinot Gris showcases the variety's potential beyond simple whites. The 2023 vintage offers aromas of pear, honeysuckle and wet stone. The medium-bodied palate delivers flavors of yellow apple, lemon curd and a touch of ginger, with refreshing acidity. Whole cluster pressed and fermented cool in stainless steel, it finishes clean with a pleasant bitter almond note. Pair with oysters or any seafood-based risotto!
CA’ GIALLA, ROERO ARNEIS 2023, PIEDMONT, ITALY 15.99 Ca’ Gialla is the nickname of the house where winemaker Marco Porello’s cellar is located, and what a cellar it is! All of Marco’s wines are farmed naturally without the use of herbicides or pesticides, Marco working towards his organic certification. This particular selection from his carefully tended-vineyards is crisp and fresh with notes of pear and minerals and a hint of apricot. Ca’ Gialla comes across a bit more floral than most of the Arneis that you’ll find out there, with that nice hint of almond that we look for in top examples of this native Roero varietal. Pair with delicate fish or white meat, notably any dish that features thyme, as the flavors work in perfect harmony.
VENTO DI MARE, SAUVIGNON BLANC 2023, SICILY, ITALY $12.99 With a name that translates from Italian to "wind of the sea,” Vento di Mare benefits from sea breezes that cool the vineyards, preventing pests and aiding in the cultivation of their organic grapes grown on the coast of Sicily. The Vento di Mare Sauvignon Blanc is a simple, dry, and refreshing white wine from the island, notable for its aromatics of white petals and lavender. The palette following through with flavors of lush honeydew melon and exotic fruit. As the vineyard sits by the ocean, we recommend pairing with traditional seafood fare, namely mussels and salmon.
