EL HALCÓN, CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2021, RIOJA, SPAIN $16.99 El Halcón ‘the Falcon’ pays tribute to the Cabernet Sauvignon grape that through time has adapted so well in so many territories. Just like the bird, Cabernet Sauvignon is a grape with no borders. It's worth noting that it has been declassified, as Rioja regulations do not permit wines made solely from Cabernet Sauvignon. Wild briary blackberry and forest raspberry aromas swarm the nose with entrancing earthy aromas that yearn for tasting. The palate perfectly balances red and black fruit buttressed by dried violet blossom that provides additional depth and complexity. Pair with earthy, savory dishes like roast lamb rack and mushroom bourguignon. 91 Points Wine Enthusiast.

LABADIA, ‘CHILL YA JOLO’ CILIEGIOLO 2024, TUSCANY, ITALY $18.99 Badia a Coltibuono, or the “abbey of good culture,” was established in 1051 by San Giovanni Gualberto, founder of the Vallombrosan order and patron saint of foresters, rangers, and parks. The monastery was active until Napoleon dissolved it in 1810. The abbey was purchased by the Stucchi Prinetti family in 1846, and it is now managed by the sixth generation in Roberto Stucchi, and his siblings Emanuela and Paolo. Always seeking to blend tradition and modernity, they created this fun new red wine from the Chianti-blending variety: Ciliegiolo pronounced chee-lee-eh-JOH-lo and is named after the Italian word for cherry, both because of its color and its flavors, cherry and cranberry notes mingle with a slight balsamic note. Ideally served with a chill, it would be an ideal companion for your Thanskgiving feast, as it has the versatility to pair with all manner of poultry, ham, and all the delicious veggies sides, YUM!!!

LABOURE-ROI, BOURGOGNE PINOT NOIR 2021, BURGUNDY, FRANCE $18.99  Founded in 1832, Labouré-Roi is today one of the most respected names in Burgundy. These historical roots in the heart of one of the most fragmented and exacting wine-producing regions in the world have shaped a philosophy focused on excellence and discovery.  This wine features a subtle nose of black and red berries, and has a supple, fruit-forward palate, featuring soft tannins with nice freshness. Enjoy this wine just as an aperitif or paired with a plate of cured meats, with Bonito Tataki, Italian-style pasta, stuffed puff pastry, meat pies, or a French Camembert cheese.

KRASNO, SAUVIGNONASSE 2023, GORISKA BRDA, SLOVENIA $16.99 This grape is best known as Friulano across the border in Friuli, Italy.  The Slovenians, however, call it Sauvignonasse (unrelated to Sauvignon Blanc).  Goriška Brda has a good diurnal swing because it gets warm breezes from the Adriatic, as well as cold winds from the Alps. The winery is named after the town of Krasno, located about two miles east of Italy, with steep vineyards producing excellent fruit.  Krasno is a co-op, owned by 400 wine-growing families, and producing wines for 50 years. This wine is aged in stainless steel featuring flavors of lemon, green apple, pine needles, and a hint of salinity. Pair with ceviche, butter-poached shrimp, or even asparagus (a famously difficult to pair item)!

CASA ROJO, LA GABACHA SAUVIGNON BLANC 2021, RUEDA, SPAIN 16.99 100% organic Sauvignon Blanc from D.O. Rueda, Spain! This wine is a vibrant reflection of its origin, fermented at low temperatures and aged on its fine lees for 5 months to preserve all its aromatic richness. Visually, it presents a straw yellow color with steely nuances and golden edges, clean and transparent. On the nose, it features an intense range of aromas: from stone fruit notes like apricot and peach to subtle citrus and herbaceous touches characteristic of the varietal. On the palate, it's a dry, elegant, and vibrant wine with a refreshing acidity that makes it memorable. Ideally served with seafood, hence the label!

PIEVALTA, ‘TRE RIPE’ VERDICCHIO DEI CASTELLI DI JESI 2023, LE MARCHE, ITALY $16.99
The alchemical symbol emblazoned on the label means “spring,” indicating  the freshness of this 100% Verdicchio. In the winery’s commitment to excellence, all Pievalta wines have been certified Biodynamic since 2008. Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, where this wine is grown, boasts a microclimate well suited for lighter and fresher Verdicchio expression. Clay and limestone amplify the minerality and freshness of fruit’s character, and on the palate this wine features a fresh streak of citrus lime and lime, accompanied by the telltale Verdicchio “almond” note. Nothing goes better with this wine than Mexican fare, particularly shrimp tacos (take it from us)!
