Born in the hills of Marsala in northwestern Sicily, Sedàra comes from the oldest winery of the family-run company Donnafugata. Composed mainly of Nero d’Avola, Sicily’s most planted variety, it has a fresh ruby red color, the nose gives a fragrant bouquet with intense hints of red fruit, predominantly cherry, and floral notes of rose petals. The palate corresponds perfectly to to the olfactory preview, but enlivened with a fresh spiciness. A great wine for everyday drinking, it is also the rare red that pairs well with most seafood, especially cioppino, anything tomato based really. Serve with a slight chill.
