Killer 95 Point Syrah – Super Rare! Only a Few Cases

“This is a Rolls Royce ride through the pre-war London streets with Winston Churchill after a couple nightcaps”

Russell From – Proprietor of Herman Story Wines – from his tasting notes on the 2012 Nuts and Bolts Syrah

We only received a few cases of the 2012 Herman Story Nuts and Bolts Syrah so this is going to a small group of you.  I tried this wine recently and it stacks up very well among the top California Central Coast Syrah Bottlings…..similar to Epoch, Linne Calodo and Jonata.

Completely a “Garagiste” winery, we haven’t seen these wines in this market in some years, so we’re thrilled at the opportunity to get our hands on a few cases!  100% Syrah and pushing 15.5% alcohol, this is full-throttle in style.

Right now the Herman Story mailing list is closed and only 216 cases of the 2012 Nuts and Boltes Syrah were produced.  Vineyards include: Bien Nacido, Larner, Les Galets, Murmur, Presquile, Shadow Canyon, Spanish Springs, Terra Bella, Thompson.

From Russell From’s Tasting Notes:

“This is a Rolls Royce ride through the pre-war London streets with Winston Churchill after a couple nightcaps. Impossibly well appointed, gracious, affable and once in a lifetime. 2 carat red diamond, rare cherries, Ylang Ylang oil, soft rubber, opium, honeysuckle, orange flower water, black raspberry topped bread pudding, sweet roasted red chile and Parisian scarves with a body that will break your eyes.
(DRINK NOW: 1+ hour decant, CELLAR: 7+ years)

Wine Advocate Review – 95 Points – Jeb Dunnuck Reviewer:

“Even better, his 2012 Nuts & Bolts is a smoking 100% Syrah that spent 16 months in 50% new French oak barrels. Full-bodied and decadent, yet never over-the-top, heady or cumbersome, it’s loaded with ripe blackberry, cassis, new leather, white pepper and hints of smoked duck. Drink this hedonistic beauty over the coming 4-6 years, although I see no reason to delay gratification either. “
