Empire State South Wine Director, Steven Grubbs and I first experienced the Ankida Ridge wines several months ago and we were both impressed! His interest ballooned as he visited the winery during a wine tour chronicled in and article he wrote for Food and Wine. Click here to read the Article.
Christine Vrooman's Ankida Ridge Vineyards is perched on a virgin, decomposed granite mountain slope in the Eastern Blue Ridge mountain range in Central Virginia. Wine Advocate writer, David Schildknecht called the 2010 Pinot Noir, "a mouthwatering, multi-dimensional, mindset-mending demonstration of what's possible in Virginia's Blue Ridge...I expect the Vrooman's 2011 to shake-up lots of tasters and their preconceptions.
The Menu is below, and I'm looking forward to anyone adventurous to join me as I'm excited to try the full line-up!
