Many of our customers who seek younger nebbiolo based wines have gravitated to the G.D. Vajra and Silvo Grasso Barolo Bottlings. They offer great richness, moderate structure, and immediate enjoyment.
As those wines are starting to become scarce, we have a great (and slightly fuller bodied) Barolo that is perfect “stepping stone” to enter into the higher-end crus.  The 2011 Mirafiore Barolo can be enjoyed today and has a 93 Point Wine Enthusiast Review (featured below).
History
The Mirafiore Estate is a re-establishment of a powerful wine company that flourished in Italy’s Piedmont region up until the 1930’s.  It was originally part of the Fontanafredda estate, whose current owner is responsible for bringing Mirafiore back.
Tasting Notes:
The Hillside vineyards incorporate fruit from the Serralunga d’Alba region (Lazzarito Cru) with a limestone dominant soil.  The result is a wine with gentle acidity, but soft tannins because the wine spends time in neutral French Oak casks.  The style is somewhat showy, but there are solid expressions of both new world flavors (dense black fruits) and old world flavors (licorice, mushroom, earth).  In general, it leans towards the crowd-pleasing style, and it’s immediately enjoyable!
Enjoy this Barolo while you are waiting patiently for your others to mature! As only 60 bottles will be arriving today, please send a reply to nick@highlandfinewine to let us know what we can save for you!

Wine Enthusiast 93 Point Review is Below:
Classic Nebbiolo aromas of red berry, leather, crushed flower and a balsamic note unfold in the glass. The full-bodied palate doles out juicy black cherry, licorice and tobacco alongside firm, refined tannins. Drink 2018-2026.
