“The 2008 Amarone della Valpolicella captures the essence of this gorgeous Amarone vintage.”

-Antonio Galloni – Founder of the Vinous and former Italian Wine Reviewer for the Wine Advocate

We only received 22 bottles of the Pra Amarone, so we’re jus sending this to those of you who like the good stuff!  I wish we had more available, but you get first crack at it!
The Amarone Process – How it’s Made:
After harvest, the grapes are left to dry in the loft above the winery for approximately two months.  The grapes are then de-stemmed, pressed and fermented (in the middle of the winter!) for 15 days.  Malolactic fermentation takes place in Large Allier Barrels, and the wine is further matured in Allier oak barriques of varying sizes for an additional 3 years! The result is the concentration of dried fruit flavors we’ve come to love from Amarone.  Potent and rich, like most no Italian wine
