The 2011 Vintage of Paolo Scavino Barolos have arrived!  Quantities are lower than the 2010’s we received 16 months ago.  The 2011’s are intensely aromatic and already drinking remarkably well!

About Paolo Scavino:

Paolo Scavino was started in 1921, and is now run by Enrico Scavino with his two daughters. Enrico was the first in his family to vinify a single vineyard Barolo in 1978, and has patented the use of Roto-fermentors to soften the tannins suring the fermentation process.  This coupled with a commitment to using mostly used oak barrels with a dominance of Austrian oak brings the best of the New World and Old World Styles together.  The wines are clean, pure, and well articulated.

Below is a map showing the Paolo Scavino’s Vineyard locations.  Most are centrally located withing Barolo, and Castiglione, with the Bricco Ambrogio residing up north in Roddi.
